Mavs Trade For Kyrie Irving; Raptors' O.G Anunoby Next to Go?

The Brooklyn Nets traded Kyrie Irving to the Dallas Mavericks. Now what happens with another hot trade target, Toronto Raptors forward O.G Anunoby?

The Dallas Mavericks are pushing all of their chips in by trading for Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving. Can they make an additional trade push?

The Mavs on Sunday traded Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith, a 2029 first-round pick and multiple second-round selections to the Nets for Irving and Markieff Morris.

While trading Dinwiddie makes sense given that he'll take Irving's spot in the rotation, the Mavs will have to figure out who will occupy Finney-Smith's role.

While the team could simply elevate Reggie Bullock or Davis Bertans to the starting lineup, could the Mavs "go for broke'' again and make another blockbuster deal ... this time for Toronto Raptors forward O.G Anunoby?

As one of the premier defensive wings in the league, Anunoby is on the trade block after reports of unhappiness are coming out of Toronto. The Raptors are six games under .500 and could face a possible breakup of the roster with the team sitting in no man's land.

Anunoby has a number of suitors around the league, including the New York Knicks and Memphis Grizzlies. Could the Mavs add themselves to the list?

As a first-round pick was dealt in the Irving deal, it would take some maneuvering. Trade Christian Wood's expiring contract? Does Wood in a three-team deal help? Include Tim Hardaway's pricy contract that matches up with Anunoby? Package Dwight Powell's $11 million expiring deal with Josh Green to make it work? Get the Knicks to drop the protection on the 2023 first-rounder?

The Mavs just found a creative way to be a risk-taking buyer on Kyrie. Anunoby wouldn't be as much about risk as it would be creativity ...

And we wonder if, as the cogs turn, there might be a way.
