Mavs Pregame LISTEN: Luka, Kyrie Tough Road Test vs. Nuggets; NBA Standings Watch

In this story:
Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving get one more shot at securing their first win as a star duo before NBA All-Star Weekend … but it’s not going to be easy.
The Dallas Mavericks take on two-time reigning MVP Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets on the road Wednesday night. The Nuggets are the top team in the Western Conference and have a 26-4 record at home. However, one of those home losses came against the Mavs on Dec. 6 by the final score of 116-115.
On today’s episode of the Mavs Step Back Podcast, we preview Dallas’ big matchup with Denver as well as look at how this week’s NBA action affects the Mavs in the West standings. The Mavs could potentially be severely shorthanded on Wednesday, but the Nuggets have some questions on the injury report as well that could play a role in the game.
Irving, who scorched the Minnesota Timberwolves with a 26-point fourth-quarter performance on Monday, will look to keep his momentum going against the Nuggets, especially if Jamal Murray (questionable) doesn’t play.
“It was insane,” Doncic said of Irving’s fourth-quarter explosion. “All of the guys were just looking at each other wondering how he does that. It was unbelievable to see, and he really got hot.”
