Doncic to Join Roster For Dirk's Pro Celebrity Tennis Classic

DALLAS - Mavs star and 2018-19 Rookie of the Year, Luka Doncic, has been confirmed to be participating in Dirk Nowitzki's fourth-annual Pro Celebrity Tennis Classic this Sunday

Doncic, who has spent the majority of his offseason training internationally in preparation for the upcoming season, returned to Dallas a few weeks ago and has been participating in competitive pickup games with the likes of Monta Ellis, Dorian Finney-Smith, Justin Jackson, and Isaiah Roby.

Having already been made into somewhat of a sports icon in the city of Dallas since becoming the Mavs first-round selection in June of 2018, Doncic has also inherited the Mavs franchise from a legendary Euro star in Nowitzki, who served as a major mentor for Doncic during his Rookie of the Year campaign.

Doncic now gets his opportunity to start returning the favor, by being a major celebrity draw for this Sunday's charity event, and likely many future events to come.

The event will be taking place at the SMU Tennis Complex from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will feature other current and former Mavs Steve Nash, Devin Harris, J.J. Barea, and Dwight Powell.

There are also a host of current and former tennis pros set to join Nowitzki's charity event, including Mark Knowles, Tommy Haas, and John Isner, as well as actor Austrian-born actor, Boris Kodjoe.

The event, which is one of two public charity events that Nowitzki puts on every year, benefits the children’s charities of the Dirk Nowitzki Foundation.

Tickets are $20 for adults and youth, and free for children 3 and under. Purchase tickets at fevo.com.

Parking is available at the Mustang Parking Center (6001 Bush Ave). For details, go to dnfoundation.org
