The Barclays Center is the fifth-newest arena in the NBA, but improvements are possible within the premises. Considering that the Los Angeles Clippers are opening the Intuit Dome in the 2024/25 season, it does not hurt the Nets to improve the current structure.

BSE Global is working with design firm Populous and architect Adam Stover to start renovations. They will transform Suite Level B into two new “open concept, premium membership clubs.”

“As designers, our goal is to be put in settings where there is true collaboration, where no idea is a stupid idea, and where everything wants to be explored. The goal is to navigate the story first, and then tell that story. If we don’t know our paragraph, it’s really hard to design to something,” Stover told the Sports Business Journal.

The Nets will get improvements ahead of the next season

The costs for the new changes to Barclays Center will remain undisclosed, but it will be the largest in its history. Populous will move 30 suites around the arena, which makes way for The Row and The Key, which are two spaces facing each other from across the seating bowl.

They will be similar in size but have differing vibes. The Row will be the higher-end part of the two changes, while The Key will focus on being the more energetic and sporty part of the arena.

“It’s creating a level of premium for everyone in the building. From the upper concourse, down, when you walk into the building, you have a premium experience no matter where you are,” Stover continued.

Brooklyn is not alone with arena renovations

The Barclays Center is the latest NBA arena to get these renovations. The 76ers Wells Fargo Center and the Pacers’ Gainbridge Fieldhouse completed multi-year renovations worth around $400 million.

Teams are starting to realize that giving the fans the optimal experience is the right move, as they want them to enjoy their time in the arenas. With this change to Barclays Center, the Nets will look forward to getting a cash injection from sales to get within the arena.
