Brooklyn Nets Players, Coaches Honor Doctors with Pregame Warmup Shirts

In this story:
On March 9, in recognition of National Doctors Day, Brooklyn Nets players and coaches wore custom shooting shirts during pregame warmups ahead of the team’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies. The shirts were designed by pediatric patients from Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) and featured artwork honoring the doctors who care for them each day.
On March 1, HSS pediatric patients were invited to the Nets Kids Day game vs. the Cleveland Cavaliers, where they sat courtside for team warmups and watched the game from a suite.
The custom shooting shirts were originally created on January 17, when the patients were invited to the Nets’ practice facility at the HSS Training Center for a unique, once-in-a-lifetime experience with the team. During the visit, they designed the shirts and met Nets players and staff following practice.
"They were working on a great design for warmup t-shirts for our players to wear, so it means the world to us," Nets coach Jordi Fernández said. "We're very excited to wear them."
"I like art a lot," Drake Powell said. "So it's good to see artists making whatever they think can come to life. I think it would be cool."
