Previewing the Brooklyn Nets Final Stretch of the 2025-26 Season

In this story:
A disheartening season for the rebuilding Brooklyn Nets has led to a final six-game stretch in April. The Nets stand at 18-58 after a 3-14 stint in March.
They currently have the second-worst record in the NBA, giving them even odds at the No. 1 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. Brooklyn doesn't have its lottery position locked down, and with a poor strength of schedule to close the season, a fall out of the bottom three is not unlikely.
All six teams in the final stretch are Eastern Conference opponents. Four of the games are against the bottom five teams in the conference, one is against a current play-in team and the month begins with the Atlanta Hawks on April 3 at home, who are the No. 5 seed as of now.
The Hawks are one of the hottest teams in the East with an 8-2 record in their last 10 games. They were also top 10 in offensive rating and defensive rating during this stretch.
The Nets have been relying on a plethora of G League-level talents recently, making this another potential blowout loss. After what appears to be the hardest game of the short month, they will go on a four-game stretch against the bottom feeders of the East.
Barclays Center will welcome the Washington Wizards on April 5, the Milwaukee Bucks on April 7, the Indiana Pacers on April 9 for the home finale and the Bucks again on the road on April 10 for the last back-to-back of the season. The games against the Pacers and Wizards will potentially hold the most weight in the lottery race.
This is the fourth game of Brooklyn's season series against Washington, and a loss would mean a coin flip tie breaker would be necessary if a scenario happened where both teams were stuck on the No. 3 and No. 4 seed.
A loss against Indiana would give the Nets the tiebreaker with a 1-2 record in the season series if necessary. The Pacers went 3-7 in their last 10 games and have had a scorching hot offense that Brooklyn is going to struggle to keep up with.
With two games against Milwaukee in its final four games, a split seems plausible with how injured both teams are.
Brooklyn heads to Toronto for its season finale against the Raptors. It is 1-2 in the divisional series, and Toronto is currently fighting to get out of the play-in. The Nets have lost their season finale in the past three seasons.
The focal point with this little time left is development and catering decisions towards this offseason. Brooklyn will have to make several decisions on which players to prioritize, and this final six-game stretch will play a factor.
April record prediction: 2-4
