Report: Warriors Haven't 'Shown Real Interest' in Acquiring Nets' Michael Porter Jr.

In this story:
Michael Porter Jr. has been linked to the Golden State Warriors in trade rumors. One recent report suggested that the Brooklyn Nets' leading scorer is on top of the Warriors' trade list.
However, ESPN's Shams Charania is singing a different tune, sharing that the two sides haven't spoken in quite a while.
"As of this week, the Warriors hadn't talked to the Brooklyn Nets in more than a month and have never shown real interest in a trade for wing Michael Porter Jr., league sources said," Charania wrote.
A lot can change between now and three weeks, but much of the recent reporting surrounding the team implies that Porter is going to extend his stay at Flatbush and Atlantic.
However, if anything changes between the two sides, there's at least one key member of the Warriors' dynasty who would seem to be open to bringing MPJ to The Bay.
Porter would bring a much-needed scoring punch to the Warriors and give them even more floor spacing, which would of course, help Stephen Curry get more open looks from downtown and give Jimmy Butler more room to operate inside.
Porter's off-ball gravity would make him an excellent fit next to Draymond Green as well, as it gives the Warriors' playmaker another option to swing the ball to in a ball movement heavy type of offense.
The Nets likely wouldn't be too interested in bringing Jonathan Kuminga back in a potential trade package and Moses Moody and one first round pick likely wouldn't be enough for sweeten the package.
With the Warriors well past their dynasty years, each first round pick they have is valuable currency. Unless they were absolutely sold that Porter is the piece that'll help them get over the top and give Curry his fifth ring, it's unlikely they'd part with more than one first round pick, unless Curry pushes heavily for it.
At this point, the Nets' primary focus is likely to focus on developing the plethora of young players on their roster and bottom out for a chance to select in the top 5 of a loaded draft class, but that doesn't necessarily mean they'd move off of Porter before the trade deadline.
Porter is still young enough where he could help the Nets compete for a playoff spot next season, or the Nets could look to flip him for future draft assets in the offseason, depending where they land in the lottery.
