What the latest NBA mock drafts have the Indiana Pacers doing with the seventh overall pick

The NBA Draft is just over two weeks away

The NBA Draft is in just over two weeks, and the pre-draft process is in its late stages for many teams. The Indiana Pacers, for example, are bringing in draft prospects for workouts in preparation for the June 22 draft.

The Pacers have five picks among this year's 58 selections, but the most intrigue surrounds their best pick at seventh overall. For a young team with playoff aspirations, adding the right talented youngster is important.

"I'm excited. There's a lot of guys, lotta versatility," Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton said of the 2023 draft class. He has been watching draft workouts with Indiana executives.

What the blue and gold do with the seventh pick won't be known for 16 days, but here is what the latest mock drafts say Indiana will do.

ESPN (Jonathan Givony): Pacers select Houston forward Jarace Walker

Get ready to see Walker's name a ton. The Houston forward is a great fit with the blue and gold with his defense, size, and IQ. He met with the Pacers at the NBA Draft Combine and discussed his skill set as well as who he studies.

USA Today's The Rookie Wire (Cody Taylor): Pacers select Arkansas guard Anthony Black

Black isn't connected to the Pacers often, but the Razorbacks guard has size and can defend. Indiana has many guards, but large creators can help any team. Black met with the Pacers at the Draft Combine.

Yahoo Sports (Krysten Peek): Pacers select Houston forward Jarace Walker

Another mock draft with Walker heading to the Pacers. The former Cougar has an individual draft workout with the Pacers on June 7, and he has a chance to prove that the mock drafts should be right.

The Ringer (Kevin O'Connor): Pacers select Central Forward forward Taylor Hendricks

Hendricks would fit well with the Pacers. His best skills appear to be his defense and outside shooting, and those would both slot in well on the wing for Indiana. He, like Walker, has an individual workout with the Pacers on Wednesday.

Bleacher Report (Jonathan Wasserman): Pacers select Houston forward Jarace Walker

Walker to the Pacers just makes sense. Not only does he have potential to grow into an excellent player, but he's a tremendous fit and checks many boxes for Rick Carlisle's team. Expect to see this idea often in the days leading up to the draft.

Indiana has worked out nearly 40 players in this draft cycle so far and will be a team to watch in the coming weeks.
