Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton receives two votes for All-NBA honors

The NBA announced the All-NBA teams for the 2022-23 season on Wednesday, and to the surprise of no one, zero Indiana Pacers players were on the teams.
The Pacers finished the season at 35-47, and while Tyrese Haliburton and Myles Turner had solid seasons, neither put together an All-NBA level campaign. For Turner, it's that he is a level below the top talents in the league at his position. For Haliburton, it's that he didn't quite play in enough games to have the same total impact as the top ball handlers in the NBA. He finished the season with 58 appearances.
Despite not having a player make any of the three All-NBA teams, the Pacers did have one player get votes. And to the surprise of nobody, it was Haliburton, who also finished sixth in Most Improved player voting and received a vote for the NBA's All-Defensive first team.
Haliburton received two votes, both for All-NBA third team. Ultimately, the six guards who received the honor were Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Luka Doncic, Donovan Mitchell, Stephen Curry, De'Aaron Fox, and Damian Lillard.

What makes Haliburton's votes interesting is that they came at different positions. One voter gave Haliburton a nod for All-NBA third team as a guard while another gave him a vote as a forward. All of Haliburton's minutes this season came at one of the guard spots.
The 23-year old averaged 20.7 points and 10.4 assists per game this season, and he was named an Eastern Conference All-Star. He had a terrific campaign and proved to be a franchise cornerstone for Indiana. He should have All-NBA recognition in his future.
Former Pacer Domantas Sabonis, who the Pacers traded away to get Haliburton, was named to the All-NBA third team as a center. It is his first appearance on one of the teams.
