Chicago Bulls Add Alex Caruso to Injury Report vs. Detroit Pistons

Will the Chicago Bulls play Alex Caruso against the Detroit Pistons on Thursday?

The final week of the regular season serves as preparation for the NBA Play-In Tournament for the Chicago Bulls. Their next matchup against the Detroit Pistons on the road could involved a few key absences.

Among the players listed on Chicago’s injury report is the defensive standout, Alex Caruso.

According to the Bulls’ injury report, Caruso is dealing with a left ankle contusion. As a result, he is listed as probable.

The chances of Caruso missing Thursday’s game in Detroit seem slim, which is a good sign for the Bulls. Once again, Caruso has been a major helping hand in Chicago, as he’s spent most of his time in the team’s starting five this year.

Averaging nearly 30 minutes per game, Caruso has been efficient from deep, knocking down 41 percent of his five attempts per game. He’s averaging 10 points per outing, along with three assists, four rebounds, two steals, and one block.

While Caruso recently missed a game against the Orlando Magic last week, he returned for a 37-minute shift in the 11-point loss against the New York Knicks on Tuesday. In that matchup, Caruso scored nine points, five rebounds, and six assists. He also had two blocks and two steals on the defensive end.

Barring any unexpected changes, Caruso should be able to compete in his second-straight game on Thursday.

As for the rest of the Bulls’ injury report, Chicago knows it will roll without Zach LaVine, Patrick Williams, Julian Phillips, and Lonzo Ball. As for the non-ruled-out prospects, the Bulls are 50/50 on Ayo Dosunmu, who is dealing with a quadricep contusion. Meanwhile, Andre Drummond is unlikely to play with a left ankle sprain.

The Pistons and the Bulls will battle it out at 7 PM ET on Thursday.
