Pistons’ Cade Cunningham Throws Down Poster Dunk vs. Heat

Cade Cunningham threw down a poster dunk in Miami.

As the Detroit Pistons fired up their Tuesday night matchup on the road against the Miami Heat, Detroit’s young star, Cade Cunningham, brought the energy with a poster dunk.

Looking to avoid dropping another game after struggling against the Orlando Magic the other night, Cunningham is motivated to bounce back after a tough showing.

His dunk was a tone-setter for the Pistons.

Through Cunningham’s first nine minutes of action, he attempted five shots from the field, hitting on all but two of them. With two free throws and a successful three-point attempt, Cunningham produced nine points early.

The last time the Pistons and the Heat battled it out was back on opening night in late October.

During that matchup, Cunningham checked in for 36 minutes. He had his best scoring outing against Miami in his career, draining 48 percent of his shots to score 30 points. He nearly picked up a double-double as he dished out nine assists.

Although Cunningham and the Pistons have improved their seeding after spending most of the 2023-2024 NBA season in the Eastern Conference’s bottom seed, the Washington Wizards surpassed them recently after dropping their 15th game in a row to fall to 9-52.

Meanwhile, the Pistons are 9-51, and looking to collect their tenth win against the Heat on Tuesday. In order to avoid dropped their third game in a row, the Pistons will need Cunningham to mirror his performance from earlier in the year when he got hot from the field in South Beach.
