Detroit Pistons' Cade Cunningham Official Status vs. Miami Heat

UPDATE: Cade Cunninham is AVAILABLE to play against the Heat on Friday night, according to The Athletic.
When the Detroit Pistons take on the Miami Heat on Friday night, their star guard, Cade Cunningham, could get the night off.
According to the Pistons’ injury report, Cunningham’s playing status has been downgraded to questionable. His potential absence would be due to left knee injury management.
While the veteran guard had a handful of absences throughout the year, Cunningham hasn’t missed a game for Detroit in over a month.
When the Pistons took on the Sacramento Kings on February 7, Cunningham got the night off. In his absence, Detroit shocked the hoops world and took care of business by picking up a 13-point win.
On February 8, Cunningham returned to the court to face the Portland Trail Blazers. Since then, the standout guard hasn’t missed a matchup.
When the Pistons defeated the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night, Cunningham appeared in his 15th straight game.
It was an early night for the guard, who requested an absence in the fourth quarter, allowing Pistons rookie Marcus Sasser to lead as the hot hand for Detroit down the stretch. The Pistons put the Raptors away for their third win in four games.
It turns out that Cunningham could get an entire game off on Friday when Miami pays the Pistons a visit. This year, the Pistons and the Heat met twice. The first matchup came on October 25 and resulted in a one-point win for Miami.
The second outing occurred last week and ended with the Heat collecting their fourth-straight win over the Pistons by winning 118-110.
The two teams will begin their battle at 7 PM ET on Friday. Cunningham’s playing status is currently unclear.
