Miami Heat Veteran Tyler Herro's Injury Status vs. Detroit Pistons

With another matchup on Sunday afternoon, the Miami Heat are heading into their battle against the Detroit Pistons with a crowded injury report.

Once again, headlining the injury report is the Miami Heat sharpshooter, Tyler Herro.

Lately, Herro’s been dealing with a foot injury. The last time he played was during the Heat’s February 23 matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans. With Herro’s help during a 31-minute shift, the Heat put the Pelicans away with an 11-point win.

Herro was ruled out for the second game of a six-game road trip. His absence ended up extending throughout the end of February and into March. At this point, Herro has missed ten straight games for the Heat. Being ruled out for Monday’s matchup, Herro will make it 11 in a row, with his return date still undecided.

All season long, Herro has struggled to stay healthy for Miami. After he competed in the team’s first eight games, Herro missed his first set of action on November 11.

Herro went on an 18-game streak without an opportunity to play. He would return to action on December 18 to take on the Minnesota Timberwolves. For 22 of the Heat’s next 23 games, Herro averaged 34 minutes on the court. During that time he produced 20 points per game while collecting six rebounds and dishing out four assists. The sharpshooter averaged 40 percent from three on 8.5 attempts per game.

With Herro being a key contributor on the Heat, ensuring he’s healthy before a possible playoff run will be key. At this point in the season, the Heat hold a 36-30 record, which places them seventh in the Eastern Conference. With plenty of games left, the Heat are focused on locking in a playoff seed.

They’ll attempt to make it two in a row without Herro on Sunday when they take on the Pistons at 3:00 PM ET.
