Pistons vs. Magic: Cade Cools Down in Orlando

In this story:
Physicality was an issue for Cade Cunningham and the Detroit Pistons on Sunday night. Facing the Orlando Magic for the final time this year, Detroit couldn’t avoid a season sweep against the team they nearly upset one week prior.
The Pistons struggled shooting the ball on Sunday. While they attempted 14 more shots from the field, efficiency was lacking, as the Pistons hit just 38 percent of their shots from the field as a team.
Lately, Cade Cunningham has been among Detroit’s sharpshooting contributors, but he struggled to gain a rhythm from the field during his 22-minute shift on Sunday.
Cunningham’s Stats vs. Magic
Before getting an early night off in the fourth quarter, Cunningham attempted 12 shots from the field in Orlando. He hit on just 33 percent of his attempts. Of the four shots he took from beyond the arc, the third-year veteran knocked down just one of them.
Cunningham finished the night with just nine points. It was the first time he failed to exceed double-digit scoring since January 7, when he left a matchup against the Denver Nuggets early.
On a brighter note, Cunningham’s stellar passing was on display, as he assisted on 70 percent of Detroit’s made shots when he was on the floor. He wrapped up the game with seven assists.

Next up for the Pistons
The Pistons will stick around in Florida for one more day. On Tuesday, March 5, they will face the Miami Heat on the road. Tuesday’s matchup marks the second meeting between the Pistons and the Heat this season. Back when they faced each other in late October, the Heat squeaked out with a one-point win. The Pistons will search for an exit out of the loss column.
