The Houston Rockets were finally back in action Sunday after being off the last three days. They last played Wednesday against the Golden State Warriors where they came back from down 14 points to pull out the win.

The Rockets were able come away with the victory despite playing without Kevin Durant, Steven Adams and Tari Eason who has been out the last couple of weeks. The Rockets were able to do that because of a career high night from Reed Sheppard but also because of balance scoring.

The Rockets had five players in double digits as they were able to come away with one of their biggest wins of the season. The Rockets' second-leading scorer this season, Alperen Sengun, scored 16 points, but it didn't matter as the Rockets had great scoring up and down the lineup against the Warriors. The Rockets have been doing it all season, with six players averaging in double digits. In the Rockets' easy win over the Utah Jazz on Sunday, they had another balanced game when it came to scoring.

Rockets Use Balance Scoring in Easy Win Over the Jazz

The Rockets had played the last two games without Kevin Durant as they welcomed him back to the lineup. Durant did what Durant always does which is score at an efficient rate all night, but he wasn't the only one who stepped up in the win.

The Rockets saw six players finish in double digits in the Rockets win Sunday as everyone from Durant to Steven Adams took turns making plays throughout the game. In fact Steven Adams had a double-double after missing the last game against the Warriors. Adams started the game 8-8 from the free throw line.

Aaron Holiday had another great game off the bench, scoring in double digits again Sunday, making it five of his last six games scoring 10 or more points. Even though Amen Thompson struggled from the field, he had a season in assists as he found the open man all afternoon.

The Rockets knew they were facing a rebuilding Jazz team coming into the game and, after three days off, wanted to put them away early. The Rockets continue to prove they don't need one player to dominate scoring on a nightly basis, as they have all season, as everyone contributed to another win to start the 2025-26 season.
