Rockets Rookie Amen Thompson Injures Ankle; Will He Play Sunday?

In this story:
The Houston Rockets are celebrating after a 100-99 win against the Portland Trail Blazers, but it did come at a price.
No. 4 overall pick Amen Thompson injured his left ankle early in the fourth quarter and did not return.

Before his injury, Thompson was piecing together a solid Summer League debut. He made an impact on both ends of the floor, scoring nine of his 16 points in the first quarter.
On defense, he took advantage of his opportunities and came up with four blocks, four rebounds and three steals.
It remains to be seen how serious Thompson's injury truly is. More information will likely come ahead of the team's game Sunday, but it wouldn't be a surprise if this is the last we see of Thompson in Las Vegas. The Rockets shouldn't want to risk the overall health of their most recent top-five pick. While it would be beneficial for Thompson to continue developing, the cons could outweigh the pros.
The Rockets return to action Sunday against the Detroit Pistons, where Amen Thompson could face his twin and No. 5 pick Ausar if he is healthy.
