Outside of the highlight reel, Eason had a strong showing in his Summer League debut. He scored 20 points on 7 of 14 shooting, grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out five assists. Defensively, Eason also flexed his muscles, blocking four shots.
It remains to be seen how much more Eason will play in Las Vegas, but Friday's game proved that he projects to be a key piece to the puzzle for the Rockets again in his second season. His toughness aligns very well with what Ime Udoka wants to build with his culture and it should take him a long way in his career.
Eason and the Rockets return to action Sunday against the Detroit Pistons. Tipoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
