Rockets' Kevin Durant Creates Custom KD18 Colorway for Daughter of Late Sean Taylor

In this story:
Kevin Durant has been one of Nike's longest tenured athletes. The Houston Rockets forward has a lifetime deal with the sneaker giant.
To date, Durant has already had 18 shoes under the label. And his next shoe, the 'KD 19' is slated to drop this summer.
The shoe is a silhouette of the Nike Hyperflight shoe, which was released in 2001. Although this one is much lower to the ground, even though the Hyperflight shoe is a low-top sneaker.
Durant has even partnered with well-acclaimed recording artist Drake for a colorway of the shoe.
Durant has even had earlier shoes from his career brought back by Nike. Or "retroed," as it's coined.
We've seen the 'KD 4's brought back out in recent years, while the 'KD 6' shoe will also be brought back.
Durant has stated that the KD 6 shoe is the best of his 18 shoes. The Nike-Durant partnership nearly ended years ago, as he signed an offer to join Under Armour, which Nike had the ability to match.
Much like restricted free agency in sports. The label matched the deal, although the negotiations with Durant became quite rocky.
This season, Durant has donned the KD 18 shoe in each of the Rockets' games. At times, we've even seen him change shoes midway through the games, resurfacing after the first half with an entirely different colorway of the shoe (like in Saturday's prime time game against the New York Knicks).
Rockets Superstar Collaborates with Daughter of Legendary NFL Superstar Safety Sean Taylor
Durant and Nike collaborated with Jackie Taylor, the daughter of the late Sean Taylor, who starred at safety for the Washington Commanders (formerly Redskins).
The shoes have a white and Carolina blue colorway, matching the colors of the North Carolina Tar Heels, where she stars as a volleyball player.
The younger Taylor has been donning the jersey number 21 to honor her father, who was tragically shot and killed in 2007, while trying to protect her.
On the gridiron, her father had a decorated career. Washington selected him with the No. 5 overall draft pick in the 2004 NFL Draft and he became a two-time Pro Bowler and even made an All-Pro team. All within four short seasons with the franchise.
Taylor excelled at both the strong safety and free safety positions, as he had the rare ability to impact the game in both pass coverage and run support.
