Spurs Fiesta 5: Trade Rumor with Miami Heat

Inside The Spurs identifies five of the biggest NBA storylines in addition to relevant San Antonio Spurs news and analysis.

1. SPURS TRADE WITH HEAT?

"Shopping veterans on this roster for picks is still the way to go, especially if San Antonio can acquire a second first-round pick in the 2023 draft," Bleacher Report writes. "Getting the 18th overall selection from Miami would be a nice addition, even if it means taking on Robinson in the process ... For a Spurs team with no bad contracts, they can easily absorb this deal."

2. TRE JONES NOMINATED FOR AWARD

San Antonio Spurs point guard Tre Jones is being recognized for his work off the court.

According to Turner Sports, Jones is one of five finalists for the 2022-23 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Social Justice Champion award.

Jones is a finalist alongside Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry, Phoenix Suns point guard Chris Paul, Memphis Grizzlies forward Jaren Jackson Jr., and Boston Celtics forward Grant Williams.

3. COUNT YOUR LUCKY SPURS

"The NBA Draft Lottery has been particularly kind to the San Antonio Spurs in years past."

4. LAKERS VS. NUGGETS GAME 1

"The 2023 Western Conference has been set for a few days now, but Game 1 is finally on the horizon. The Los Angeles Lakers were able to dispatch the defending-champion Golden State Warriors to get to this point, while the Denver Nuggets cruised through the Phoenix Suns. Two of the league’s biggest superstars will be in action with LA’s LeBron James and Denver’s Nikola Jokic."

Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. CT on ESPN.

5. NBA DRAFT LOTTERY

The Spurs are participating in tonight's NBA Draft Lottery, where it will be revealed if San Antonio will have the opportunity to take Victor Wembanyama with the No. 1 overall pick.

The NBA Draft Lottery will take place at 7 p.m. CT on ESPN.
