Victor Wembanyama Big Reason Why Frost Wants to Sponsor Spurs Arena?

The San Antonio Spurs' new naming rights sponsor is big on Victor Wembanyama.

SAN ANTONIO - One of the reasons I got out of corporate radio is that I was in a scenario in which I was bringing many would-be clients to the table and wasn't getting enough money in return.

I didn't see the sense in meeting with a client, agreeing to have them buy time on my show or have me perform endorsements, only to have to turn them over to a sales account representative. Why should a sales rep get a big chunk of money from a client that he or she had nothing to do with in bringing said client to the fold? If a sales rep found the client great, get your bag! But if I was the one bringing in the client, I believed I was entitled to the commission as well as the talent fee.

That brings these proceedings to Frost Bank of Texas.

Per multiple reports Monday, the AT&T Center will be renamed to the Frost Bank Center. The name change is unofficial as of now, as there's no confirmation that this will be the venue's name for the upcoming season, but an official word from the team is expected to come "as early as this week," per News 4 San Antonio.

According to the San Antonio Express-News, via an anonymous source, there is no question that Frost's ultimate decision to title sponsor the San Antonio Spurs' arena was largely in part, to the drafting of Victor Wembanyama.

There it is! The Wemby Effect. The kid is gold.

He hasn't put up one shot in a game that counts and already he's had an impact that can't be measured fully. At least not for years anyway. I don't have any idea how close, if at all, the Spurs were in negotiations with Frost before Wembanyama was drafted. I have no idea what sales rep over at SSE is responsible for this deal but whatever the circumstance, the new kid from France should get 20 percent commission on principle alone.

Good thing he's not in radio.
