The San Antonio Spurs are in the midst of a five-game losing streak and the team is coming back down to earth after an exciting 3-2 start to the season.

The team has lost every which way during this losing streak ... blowouts, overtime heartbreakers, and big blown leads.

The team's efforts over the past week have them dropping five spots in The Athletic's latest edition of its power rankings. The team was at No. 23, but now slots in at No. 28. However, despite their poor ranking, the Spurs are still exciting thanks to Victor Wembanyama.

"Many of us have celebrated how fun and fascinating it’s been to watch Victor Wembanyama get his feet wet at the NBA level," The Athletic writes. "He does something every game that makes you wonder if time and space are being bent like in some sci-fi action movie. It’s good too because if you focus on the rest of what’s happening with this team, they’re getting demolished in half of their losses."

Only the Charlotte Hornets and Washington Wizards rank below the Spurs. In order for San Antonio to jump up in the rankings, the team will have to grab some wins this week. Tonight, San Antonio is back in action for its second In-Season Tournament game on the road against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Then, the Spurs return home to the Frost Bank Center for games against the Sacramento Kings on Friday, Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday and Los Angeles Clippers on Monday.
