Sacramento Kings vs. San Antonio Spurs: 5 Questions Ahead of In-Season Tournament Matchup

In this story:
The San Antonio Spurs (3-8) welcome the Sacramento Kings (6-4) to the Frost Bank Center to begin the tonight at 6:30 p.m.
To learn more about the Spurs' opponent, we spoke with Inside The Kings managing editor Jared Koch.
1. How has De'Aaron Fox looked since returning to the lineup?
Can’t complain too much at all. The Kings haven’t lost a game since he’s been back, and he’s fresh off a solid 28 point performance with 4 steals. Super nice to have him back.
2. If the Kings win Friday, what would be the reason why?
It’s all going to be about containing Wembanyama’s impact on the defensive end. If he’s able to contain a red hot Sabonis on the interior and limit his production, it might be a tougher night than expected for Sacramento.
3. What’s one thing people should know about the Kings that they couldn’t find in a box score?
I might say Malik Monk’s ability to step up as a secondary initiator for this team. He’s coming off more of a down night against the Lakers, but what he was able to provide in Fox’s absense was much needed for this team’s offensive unit.
4. What's a matchup that you are looking forward to seeing?
I would have to say Sabonis against Wemby. Elite offense vs. elite defense. Should be a fun battle.
5. What's your prediction for Friday's game?
Considering the Kings are on a four game win streak with the Spurs fall on the opposite end of the spectrum with a six, I’ll have to ride with the hot hand and better roster to take Sacramento in this one.
