The San Antonio Spurs look to snap their 12-game losing streak tonight at home against the Atlanta Hawks. The Hawks are also on a losing streak, although two games seem much less daunting than an even dozen.

The Spurs have not played since Sunday, so fatigue will not be an issue. Feeling fresh and well-rested, they are still strong underdogs, but that’s to be expected when they’ve only won one game in November.

Atlanta allows the fifth-most points in the league, which comes at the Spurs’ benefit. Unfortunately, the Spurs allow the second-most points, so even the most optimistic fans would call that a wash.

Much to fans' disappointment, Victor Wembanyama has found himself on the injury report for the first time, listed as questionable. Jeremy Sochan is probable, while Atlanta has Kobe Bufkin, Mouhamed Gueye, and Jalen Johnson all listed as out.

Below are the lines from SI Sportsbook and our best picks before tipoff.

The Lines

Point spread: Hawks -7.5 (-110)/Spurs +7.5 (-110)

Moneyline: Hawks (-300)/Spurs (+225)

Over/under: 248.5

Our Picks

Safe pick: Victor Wembanyama OVER 21.5 points (-125)

Double-check the injury report before placing this bet, or save it for minutes before tipoff. If Wemby plays, Atlanta simply has no answer for him. Sure, Clint Capela is a decent enough defender, but he lacks the mobility necessary to keep up with Wembanyama in the midrange. The rest of Atlanta’s defense is bad, and Wembanyama has scored 22 points in three straight games, which bodes well.

Opponent pick: Trae Young OVER 26.5 points (-133)

Trae Young has gotten hot. After shooting just 29 percent from deep in his first nine games, he amped it up to 42 percent since the cold start. He is a scoring machine, easily capable of scoring 40-plus points on any given night. Against a poor defense in San Antonio, Young could explode for a season-high, and anything under 30 points will be disappointing.

Alexandre Sarr Would be Perfect Pairing with Wembanyama

Team pick: OVER 248.5 total points (-110)

This line is insanely high, but the Hawks have the second-best offense in the NBA and neither team plays defense. Sure, the Spurs don’t score much, but if everyone ends up being healthy–especially Devin Vassell–the Spurs can easily score 120 points tonight. With the point spread the way it is at 7.5, the Hawks should also be able to carry their weight on the offensive end. Expect this game to be a shootout that could easily crack 250 total points.
