In this story:

The San Antonio Spurs head to the Mile High City to take on the defending champion Denver Nuggets and two-time MVP Nikola Jokic. The Spurs are trying to buck a 12-game losing streak, and doing it in Denver is nearly impossible.

Denver enters the game 10-6, which is disappointing, given how elite they have been playing over the past couple of seasons. However, the Nuggets are undefeated at home, and Jokic has been red-hot, scoring at least 30 points in his last two games.

The Spurs enter the game totally healthy, while Denver will be without Jamal Murray and Vladko Cancar. That being said, as long as Jokic is healthy, Denver will be favored in almost every game they play, tonight being no exception.

Despite the Spurs being huge underdogs, we have our best bets, courtesy of the lines powered by SI Sportsbook.

The Lines

Point spread: Nuggets -11.5 (-110)/Spurs +11.5 (-118)

Moneyline: Nuggets (-654)/Spurs (+430)

Over/under: 229.5

Our Picks

Safe pick: Keldon Johnson OVER 17.5 points (-125)

Keldon Johnson has quietly been one of the Spurs’ best players, and definitely one of the best scorers. When a team rides a double-digit losing streak, no one gets any praise, and Johnson is no exception. However, he is averaging 20.4 points over his last five games and has been shooting 41 percent from deep. There’s no reason to think he will stop tonight.

Opponent pick: Nikola Jokic to record a triple-double (-133)

The odds for this pick tell you all you need to know: Jokic is one of the best players in the league. He has “only” five triple-doubles on the season, but the Spurs have no answer for any of his threats. An adept passer, he can find the many open men on the perimeter. An elite rebounder, even Victor Wembanyama’s length can’t stop him from getting double-digit rebounds. And the scoring? That’s the one part of the recipe he hasn’t fallen short of all season, aside from one game when he was ejected.

Fun pick: Victor Wembanyama to record a double-double (+105)

Wemby is not a triple-double machine like Jokic, but he is an excellent scorer and rebounder. Being 7-4 helps. Wembanyama already has six double-doubles on the season and has come just one board short on five different occasions. The odds here make this a value pick, and passing it up will be tough for any bettors.
