Spurs Fiesta 5: Victor Wembanyama Sitting Out of FIBA World Cup for France

In this story:
"It would not be realistic in terms of development and not prudent in terms of health," Wembanyama told French publication L'Equipe, via ESPN. "I hope people will understand. It's frustrating for me, too. The France team is still central for me. I want to win as many titles as possible with the team. But I think it's a necessary sacrifice."
"Rather than be obsessed with the accolades, Wembanyama's comments show that he's more focused on the journey it takes to get there, something that can't be said about the No. 2 overall pick Brandon Miller."
"During an appearance on Brian Windhorst's podcast, ESPN NBA analysts Tim MacMahon and Tim Bontemps proposed the idea of the Spurs and Washington Wizards engaging in trade talks to send either Tyus Jones or Monte Morris to San Antonio."
4. RUDY GAY TRADED TO HAWKS FOR JOHN COLLINS

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Atlanta Hawks are trading John Collins to the Utah Jazz for Rudy Gay.
Gay, who turns 37 in August, played with the Spurs from 2017-21.
5. SUMMER LEAGUE COUNTDOWN
