2. WEMBY 2K RATING Victor Wembanyama continues to make history before stepping on the court for the San Antonio Spurs.
Wemby was awarded an 84 rating, the highest-ever for a rookie in the video game's history, beating out Zion Williamson's 81.

3. SOCHAN'S PRAISE "[Jeremy] has been a great player to watch," San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said of the rising second-year. "He does so many different things. You don't know what he's going to do exactly, but he throws it out there, he competes. ... He's a rebounder. He's a defender. And he's not afraid to make mistakes."
4. OPENING NIGHT GAMES The NBA announced that the Los Angeles Lakers would visit the Denver Nuggets on Oct. 24 to start the new season. Then, Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns visit Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors, pitting two Western Conference contenders against one another.
5. AMAR'E STOUDEMIRE TO BE INDUCTED INTO SUNS RING OF HONOR
Former Knicks star Amar'e Stoudemire will have his number retired by the Phoenix Suns next season, the team announced this week. Stoudemire's digits will be retired alongside those of teammate Shawn Marion at a date to be determined this season.
