Spurs Fiesta 5: Pelicans' Jonas Valanciunas Trade to San Antonio?

In this story:
1. JV TO SA? "Now the Spurs will have to turn to other targets, perhaps someone like Pelicans center Jonas Valanciunas, as New Orleans and San Antonio recently did business on offloading Devonte’ Graham’s contract, and the Pelicans, sources said, have since made Valanciunas available in search of more mobile, rim-protecting big men," Yahoo! Sports wrote.
2. DEFENSE FIRST "I know if I go and make it to an NBA team, I’m going to be a rookie and I’m not going to get like 20 shots a game," Cissoko said to The Rookie Wire's Cody Taylor. "The NBA coaches like to make young guys play defense so I just want to focus first on defense."
3. WEMBY MAKES BASKETBALL BETTER "In the two days after the draft on June 22 the team saw a "3,000% increase in year over year online traffic and sales" according to Spurs senior corporate communications coordinator Lucy Kaneb. The second Wemby put that Spurs cap on and shook NBA Commissioner Adam Silver's hand there is just no telling how much the overall value of the club increased to. $500 million? That might be low in the long run."
4. NO VIC AT CALIFORNIA CLASSIC Victor Wembanyama will make his highly-anticipated San Antonio Spurs debut soon, but not immediately.
The team announced that Wembanyama would not join the Spurs in their two-game California Classic showcase in Sacramento on July 3 & 5. Instead, Wembanyama will join the team in Las Vegas for Summer League.
5. SUMMER LEAGUE COUNTDOWN The San Antonio Spurs are four days away from their first Summer League game at the California Classic in Sacramento.
Their first game against the Charlotte Hornets is on July 3 at 7 p.m. CT.
