Suns Embracing Challenge of 2-0 Series Deficit

In this story:
The Phoenix Suns are on their way back home after failing to win either of Game 1 or Game 2 against the Denver Nuggets, putting themselves in a 2-0 hole against the West's No. 1 seed.
It's a task that's easier said than done: The Suns are 0-13 in franchise history when trailing 2-0 in a postseason series. Phoenix has blown 2-0 series leads each of the last two years, can they reverse course?
“I mean, the playoffs are a lot. A lot comes with it so you just have to embrace it, embrace the challenge, embrace the opportunity that have right now, even down 0-2," said Suns shooting guard Devin Booker following the loss.
"Get back home and protect our homecourt and go from there. But, a lot is on all of our plates and that’s everybody throughout the playoffs right now.”
It's an effort that will require more than just the shooting talents of Kevin Durant and Booker, and Phoenix's gameplan was thrown aside late in the third quarter when Chris Paul suffered a groin injury and didn't return.
For a Suns bench that only poured in four points (despite four of six players playing over ten minutes), Phoenix can't be too confident in what they have to potentially replace Paul if he misses time.
The Suns held an eight point lead before Paul departed and the Nuggets took advantage of his absence. A win escaped the grasp of Suns coach Monty Williams, who did see some things that worked from their Game 2 loss.
"You know, the thing that was working was kicking it on the back side and playing the point high. We got away from it a little bit and missed a ton of shots," Williams said.
"You can see the shooting numbers aren't that great. But we figured out a formula to run an action, kick it, and then play out of that and that is something that we have to stick to when they are playing pick and roll."
No matter how you slice it, the Suns are down 0-2 facing two must-win games back at home.
"There are no moral victories tonight. Just have to put our heads down and see how we can get better and protect our home court," said Durant.
Game 3 will be Friday, May 5.
