Kevin Durant's Future With Suns Remains Cloudy

The potential Phoenix Suns target has had next to zero communication with people in the league.

The Phoenix Suns have been in pursuit of Kevin Durant for weeks, yet nothing has materialized.

The Brooklyn Nets have been strong in their will to hold the superstar scorer until a sufficient package comes their way, which reportedly involves two All-Star players in exchange for Durant.

That price tag has likely caused many teams to balk at the prospect of adding Durant, and as time continues to creep into the last half of July, there's a growing belief that Brooklyn might just keep Durant and Kyrie Irving.

The future is still very unknown to this point, yet ESPN's Brian Windhorst believes the ultimately mystery is what Durant's plans are moving forward.

"I almost can't believe what I'm about to say: The Brooklyn Nets have had a good offseason," said Windhorst.

"In a vacuum, they have gotten healthier. They have added supporting pieces. There's optimism that Ben Simmons is going to be better, and I think looking at the menu of options, the Nets are kind of like 'Kyrie, Kevin, take a look here.'

"What I will say is that nobody knows what Kevin Durant is thinking right now. His communication with teammates and others in the league has been sparse. I don't even think that the Nets have a 100% understanding of why Kevin asked for a trade. He spoke to the owner in Joe Tsai and gave a reason but I'm not sure the Nets are 100% understanding of it.

"So I think really the next step in this, barring a team's change of heart to meet the Nets' price which I don't see at this point on the calendar, I think we're going to have to hear from Kevin Durant about how open he is to running it back with the Nets. Here we go, as everybody breaks for summer, sitting, waiting for that to happen."

Is Durant at all open to returning to Brooklyn? Or is he intent on moving forward into the future with a new team?

According to Windhorst, nobody truly knows what's going on in the head of Durant.
