Suns Fall Flat in Game 5 Blowout; Trail Nuggets 3-2

In this story:
The Phoenix Suns now face elimination after losing Game 5 in 118-102 fashion to the Denver Nuggets.
Each home team has now emerged victorious in every game, as the Nuggets emerged to a 2-0 lead before the Suns leveled the series back up over the weekend in Phoenix.
Now, the Suns return home for Thursday's Game 6 down 3-2, hoping to push for a winner-take-all Game 7.
TNT mentioned on the broadcast teams who win Game 5 after the series was tied go on to advance 83% of the time.
The Nuggets felt in control for majority of the game, though Phoenix did make things interesting in the first half. The Suns erased a 15 point lead and eventually took their first lead of the night with just a few minutes left in the second quarter.
However, Denver again gained control of the game and never looked back. They consistently held around a 20 point advantage to finish Game 5 out.
Suns coach Monty Williams took his starters out with 4:46 left in the fourth quarter.
Again without Chris Paul, the Suns would look to count on the insane scoring prowess of Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, something Phoenix admittedly has lived and died with in the postseason.
That didn't yield close to anything sufficient, as the duo combined for 54 points but received next to nothing from the rest of their players.
Denver recently struggled with the three-ball, but they eventually found their form again by knocking down 13-27 attempts from downtown. The Suns hit just 9-27.
It was again the Nikola Jokic show with another triple-double, his second in three games (the other game he scored 53 points). Tonight he notched a clean 29-13-12.
Other players such as Michael Porter Jr. (19) Jamal Murray (19) and Bruce Brown (23) left their mark by adding to the scoreboard.
Phoenix's bench failed to show up again after their best outing in Game 4 - they scored just 16 points before their extended time on the floor as the game came to an end.
Game 6 is on Thursday, May 11 at 7:00 PM PST in Phoenix.
