The Phoenix Suns continue to evaluate different ways to improve the roster this offseason after acquiring Kevin Durant at the trade deadline. Massive changes have already happened following the team's early playoff exit in the form of firing coach Monty Williams, and there's promise for more as we approach the finality of the 2022-23 season.

The future of Chris Paul has been under the microscope for a few months now after the Suns reportedly poked their head around the trade market for a new point guard. Conflicting reports on Phoenix's intentions with Paul flooded the news yesterday when Chris Haynes reported Paul was being waived by the team.

Regardless of the final outcome (Paul could still return on a cheaper deal or eventually could be traded), the Suns' interest in finding a new floor general is legitimate.

One NBA insider says to keep an eye on James Harden.

“The Phoenix Suns don’t waive Chris Paul] unless they feel pretty good about somebody else. And I want you to keep your eye on James Harden. I don’t want to report anything, but that was in the wind for the past month or so," said ESPN's Ramona Shelburne.

Harden - set to depart the Philadelphia 76ers in free agency - could provide the Suns with another key scorer alongside Durant and Devin Booker on a team that clearly needs secondary help.

This isn't the first time we've seen Harden-to-Phoenix speculation, as last month the smoke first started to show. Harden won the league's MVP award in 2018, is a ten-time NBA All-Star and has led the league in scoring three times.

Under new Suns owner Mat Ishbia, it's clear he's willing to do anything it takes to win. That could involve a bearded presence in the Valley.
