Jazz Deal Rudy Gobert to Minnesota
The first full day of NBA free agency has not disappointed.
With Kevin Durant rumors (Phoenix Suns fans are thrilled with the matter) in full swing, it was the Utah Jazz who decided to make the first splash trade of the weekend.
According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Jazz have traded center Rudy Gobert to the Minnesota Timberwolves. The deal nets Utah a plethora of players and four Timberwolves first-round picks.
Gobert, who just turned 30-years-old, is a six-time All-NBA defensive first team player with three All-Star appearances to his name. He played in 66 games during the 2021-22 season and averaged 15.6 points, 14.7 rebounds (NBA high) and 1.1 assists per contest.
The Timberwolves, who just agreed to a four-year, $224M super max extension with Karl-Anthony Towns, have now solidified their frontcourt with two dynamic players.
Meanwhile, the Jazz now free up cap space and are rumored to be taking calls on guard Donavan Mitchell in what appears to be a full rebuild for the franchise.
Both the Jazz and Timberwolves made the playoffs last season.
