Devin Booker's Relentless Scoring Carrying Suns

In this story:
Adapt and thrive, that's what the Phoenix Suns have had to do.
Kevin Durant slipped and injured his ankle during warm-ups ahead of what was supposed to be his highly anticipated home debut. Fans reportedly paid as much as 260% more than face value to witness Durant at the Footprint Center for the first time.
That didn't happen, though Devin Booker wasn't going to let fans depart downtown Phoenix without a spectacle.
Booker pushed the Suns to a 132-101 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder with 44 points, three rebounds, four assists and one block. He became the first player in Suns franchise history to record four consecutive gamers with 35+ points.
After the game, Booker deflected self-praise and opted to speak on team success.
"It's just team [ball]. When we defend at a high level and we get out in transition - not tonight but having KD on the other wing, that's gonna naturally open up space for everybody and one of the best point guards of all time delivering the pass on time, on target. Deandre setting the screens, opening up in space. Josh Okogie being a pest to every other team's best player and making them pay too, so we're just hitting on all cylinders right now," Booker said.
That's alright, Suns coach Monty Williams picked up the slack and praised Booker when he spoke after the victory:
“Just coaching … no, that’s what he does. We said it at the end of the Dallas game, Kevin (Durant) had 37 points, Booker had 36 points and I just told the group, ‘You can’t take that for granted.’ I think when guys do it, the way that they do it, it’s easy to think that they’re going to be like that all the time and that’s just not the case, it’s a high level of skill and hard work and experience, but he’s a phenomenal basketball player and he’s showing it on the offensive end and defensively, our team was really good tonight, but that kind of scoring and the way that he is scoring is something that we don’t take for granted," said Williams.
The Suns are back in action on Saturday against the Sacramento Kings.
