Suns Insider Puts Paul George Trade Rumors to Rest

It's summer time - which means the NBA rumor mill continues to spin with claim after claim of what would or should have been as the offseason progresses.

The Suns have been at the forefront of most of those rumors, thanks to a variety of reasons. Their quest for a franchise-first NBA Finals title has led to some massive moves made over the last few months. With changes becoming the norm under new owner Mat Ishbia, it's plausible to leave mostly everything on the table.

Yet there's a few things that can be put to rest in terms of rumors.

A Twitter account by the name of @DColdestt suggested the Suns nearly acquired Paul George during the 2023 NBA Draft.

During the draft there was a player who was close to being traded to Phoenix. The player I'm referring to is Paul George. Frank Vogel is pushing hard to be reunited with his former Pacers star. George has found himself in trade rumors since landing with the Clippers - and in a vacuum, reuniting with former coach Frank Vogel makes sense.

However, Suns insider John Gambadoro - who has mostly been correct on most of his calls - says there's no truth to that speculation.

"The Paul George rumors are 100% completely false. He was never discussed by Frank Vogel or anyone else in the organization. Good Day Sir!" he wrote on Twitter.

The Suns have already gone under some heavy roster construction this summer, shipping out Chris Paul in a deal for Bradley Beal and also grabbing the free agent talents of Eric Gordon, Yuta Watanabe, Keita Bates-Diop, Drew Eubanks and Chimezie Metu.

Is more change on the way?

If there is, it won't be a deal involving George.
