Game Preview: Suns Host Warriors

In this story:
The Phoenix Suns (12-10) are set to face the Golden State Warriors (10-12) in a key inter-divisional matchup tonight at Footprint Center.
The Suns won the first two matchups between the two teams - first on opening night and three weeks ago in a game that Chris Paul was controversially ejected in.
Three storylines/matchups to watch for tonight:
Steve Kerr Returns to Phoenix
Steve Kerr- the former general manager of the Suns from 2007-10- and now a top-15 coach in NBA history- makes his return to Phoenix for the first time since he made critical comments towards the Footprint Center atmosphere following the game on Nov. 22.
Kerr is already an unpopular figure in Phoenix between botched trades as the Suns' top executive, his untimely exit, and being the head man of a division rival for a decade.
It'll be interesting to see how he is received by the Footprint Center crowd tonight.
Kerr and Frank Vogel will also match up against one another in what's sure to be another rubber match between title-winning head coaches.
Suns & Warriors- Up and Down Play
The Suns and Warriors have both been playing less-than-stellar basketball over the last week-plus.
Golden State is 2-3 in their last five games, and Phoenix is 1-4 in their last five.
The Warriors' pair of wins came against the struggling L.A. Clippers and Portland Trail Blazers, while the sole Suns win came against a poor Memphis Grizzlies squad.
The Warriors have a clean bill of health tonight, while Phoenix will be without Kevin Durant, Nassir Little, and Grayson Allen.
Warriors projected starting five: Curry, Thompson, Wiggins, Green, Looney
Suns projected starting five: Booker, Beal, Gordon, Okogie, Nurkic
Matchup to Watch: Curry vs Suns Defense
Stephen Curry has struggled in his two contests against Phoenix, averaging a paltry 21.5 PPG in those games.
The 35-year-old guard appears to be at the top of his game despite his struggles against the Suns - he is the major reason why Golden State hasn't taken a complete nose dive 22 games in.
The Suns' dynamic defensive duo of Josh Okogie and Jordan Goodwin has made life difficult for Curry, but Suns fans know that No. 30 has the ability to be a game-changing player every single night
Curry's performance might be the difference between a win and a loss for Phoenix tonight.
Phoenix and Golden State are set to tip off shortly after 8 PM Arizona time tonight.
