*Update: The Suns have ruled Paul out for Game 6 as of Wednesday night.

The Phoenix Suns are now staring elimination in the face after dropping a brutal Game 5 to the Denver Nuggets, losing in 118-102 fashion to fall behind 3-2 in the series.

The game was marked by many notable storylines, which included the continued absence of Chris Paul, who had been out for the prior two games after suffering a groin injury late in the third quarter of Game 2.

The Suns managed to win both games at home without Paul as Cameron Payne featured in his spot.

However, with Phoenix now on the brink of elimination, could we see Paul make an attempt at coming back in Game 6?

He was spotted getting work in prior to last night's loss in Denver.

When asked if he would be back for Thursday's Game 6, Paul told ESPN's Tim MacMahon, "We’ll see. I’m trying to.”

Backcourt running mate Devin Booker - who previously missed extended time with a groin injury in the regular season - knows how serious they can be.

"I have no idea for him, but that's not the one you rush," said Booker following Game 5, also adding he didn't know if Paul was ready to go full tilt yet.

After he was injured, NBA insider Shams Charania said the Suns were preparing to be without Paul for three games, which covered Games 3-5.

Though his status is still unknown for Thursday, Paul appears to be trying his best to make it back in time. We likely won't know his status until close to game time.

Game 6 is Thursday, May 11 at 7:00 PM PST.
