PHOENIX -- Phoenix Suns fans long awaited the opportunity to watch Kevin Durant play with 17,000 other of their friends at the Footprint Center.

Now, that might not happen until the postseason.

Durant - who played three games after healing from his MCL sprain - was going through pregame warm-ups last night before rolling his ankle. Durant stayed down for a second, tied his shoes and kept going until his workout was finished.

Fans (and us in the media) didn't think twice of Durant's slip and expected him to play. That was until we received an update with roughly 15 minutes until game time that Durant would be out with "ankle soreness" and Torrey Craig would take his spot.

Durant wasn't spotted on the bench for Phoenix's win over the Oklahoma City Thunder, and there was no major updates from coach Monty Williams last night in his post-game press conference.

However, The Arizona Republic's Greg Moore is reporting there's fear within the organization that Durant will miss the remaining 16 games of the regular season

"The Arizona Republic has learned that there is concern within the organization that Durant has a grade 2 sprain, which would keep him out for between four and six weeks," said Moore.

"Phoenix’s regular season finale is April 9, meaning it’s possible Durant could miss the remainder of the regular season and potentially the start of the playoffs."

Durant was reportedly in a walking boot leaving the arena.

The Suns return to action on Saturday against the Sacramento Kings
