Report: Deandre Ayton's Camp Waited Until Suns Couldn't Match Offer Sheet

In this story:
The Phoenix Suns have 48 hours to match the Indiana Pacers' offer sheet for center Deandre Ayton.
The offer sheet, worth four-years, $133 million is the largest offer sheet in NBA history, surpassing Otto Porter's four-year deal for $106.5 million from the Washington Wizards in 2017.
This would also be Indiana's first max contract awarded since Paul George in 2013, according to Evan Sidery.
While the debate rages on if the Suns should match or let their center walk, Arizona Sports' John Gambadoro says the timing of this was strategically planned from Ayton's camp.
This has long been in the working, Aytons camp had been waiting for the right time and to put themselves in a position where they believed Phoenix would not match. Suns now on the clock. Salaries of Booker, Paul, Ayton and KD together may not be feasible - we will see https://t.co/tbv6EX6KTz

There has been some confusion on whether or not Ayton has actually signed the offer sheet. If he hasn't, the Suns would still be able to work on a sign-and-trade with Indiana.
If he has, Phoenix has two options: Let him walk for free, or sign him with the inability to trade him until January.
