OKC Blue Advance to Western Conference Finals of G League Playoffs
The Oklahoma City Thunder G League Affiliate, the OKC Blue, knocked off the Sioux Falls Skyforce on Friday to advance to the Western Conference Finals of the NBA G League Playoffs.
After a slow start to the G League regular season that saw the Blue come out 0-4, they rallied to grab the third seed in the Western Conference. On Tuesday in Oklahoma City, the Blue knocked off the Rio Grande Valley Vipers via a game-winning bucket from Ousmane Dieng to advance to the Semi-Finals.
On Friday against the Skyforce, the Oklahoma City Blue used stout defense and a clicking offense to punch their ticket to the Western Conference Finals.
Thunder Two-way contract players Olivier Sarr, Adam Flagler and Keyontae Johnson all cracked double-figures in this contest. Sarr posted a 20 point, 11 rebound, six assist and five block night. Flagler followed up a 30-point game on Tuesday with a 21 point, six rebounds and four assist night against the Skyforce. Johnson had an 18 point outing as a play finishing cutter.
Jahmi'us Ramsey returned to the fold for the Blue after na NBA stint with the Toronto Raptors to come off the bench for the Blue and chip in 12 points, seven rebounds and four assists.
Up next, the OKC Blue will take on the Stockton Kings on Sunday, April 7 with the game being broadcasted Nationally on ESPNU. The winner will advance to the G League Finals where the format moves to a best-of-three series with home court alternating each game. Waiting on the other side of the bracket for the Western Conference winner is the winner of the Maine Celtics and Long Island Nets contest on Sunday.
