OKC Thunder Star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Upgraded to Active Against New York Knicks

After missing the previous two games, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been upgraded to active against the New York Knicks.

The Oklahoma City Thunder (51-22) take on the New York Knicks (44-29) in a battle of two top-four seeds in the NBA. The Thunder traveled to Madison Square Garden to take on the Knicks on Sunday opening up a five-game East Coast swing that will span eight days.

Entering this game, the Oklahoma City Thunder tabbed their superstar Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has doubtful with a quad contusion. The same injury that Gilgeous-Alexander has been nursing since March 20 and has held him out of the last two games for Oklahoma City.

In those two games, the Oklahoma City Thunder went 1-1 with a 25 point beat down of the Phoenix Suns on Friday and a overtime loss to the Houston Rockets on Wednesday on the second night of a back to back.

However, early Sunday morning Gilgeous-Alexander was upgraded to questionable ahead of shoot around for the Thunder. After going through their morning shoot around the OKC Thunder announced their MVP candidate would return to the hardwood tonight against the Knicks. '

Oklahoma City bench boss Mark Daigneault revealed the Thunder will not have Gilgeous-Alexander on a minute restriction making it seem as though we should expect the superstar on his normal rotational pattern.

The Thunder were able to get Gilgeous-Alexander four days off for the trad- off or two contests ahead of a difficult road trip.
