With 15 games remaining in their season, the Oklahoma City Thunder are making a late push at the play-in. Coming off of a win over the New Orleans Pelicans last night, they’ll face the San Antonio Spurs today.

Oklahoma City has won four of its last five contests, with a real chance at another victory tonight. San Antonio has lost 25 of its last 30 games and is really struggling to put together wins. With that in mind, the Spurs are coming off a win over the Denver Nuggets.

ODDS:

The Thunder enter the day as 3-point favorites against the Spurs, and the total over/under is 232 points.

KEYS TO THE GAME:

The Spurs have only played one game in the past week, so they should be well rested. On the flip side, the Thunder enter this contest on the second night of a back-to-back. It’s extremely hard to win these types of games, especially on the road, but Oklahoma City has the talent to do so.

Even with key players potentially missing this game for various reasons, the Thunder are the better team on paper. That’s why they’re still in the play-in conversation and have been putting together a string of wins over the past two weeks.

When it comes down to beating San Antonio, it’s about forcing turnovers and getting to the line. The Spurs are turnover prone and also struggle to generate freebies. If Oklahoma City can speed the Spurs up, get out in transition, and control the pace of play the result should be a victory. Furthermore, the Spurs struggle from beyond the arc offensively.
