Before the 2023 FIBA World Cup begins this weekend, the final update for the World Cup MVP betting odds is complete.

The Thunder have six players involved, including Canada's Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Luguentz Dort, Australia's Josh Giddey and Jack White, Serbia's Vasilije Micic, and Latvia's Davis Bertans.

Two players have finished in the top 24 in betting odds on Draft Kings Sportsbook, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Josh Giddey.

Gilgeous-Alexander ranked at 5th place with a +900, which is no surprise for likely the second-best player in the tournament (only behind Luka Doncic). Canada has a solid chance at making it far into the tournament, thanks to the former MVP candidate and the teammates surrounding him such as Dort, RJ Barrett and Dillon Brooks.

Giddey tied for tenth place with Barrett and Willy Hernangomez at +2000. Giddey played well in the exhibition contests and can fill the stat sheet, on a team that could be another threat in the tournament. While Giddey is young, his IQ for the game at his age is well beyond some of his peers and will receive some guidance from veterans Patty Mills and Joe Ingles.

The top four leading candidates were Anthony Edwards (+300), Jalen Brunson (+550), Brandon Ingram (+650) and Tyrese Haliburton (+750), who are all a part of the overwhelmingly favorite USA roster.

The amount of representation for the Thunder in this year's World Cup is impressive, certainly giving the spotlight on key players of an exciting young roster.

It would likely take a team win in the World Cup to get MVP consideration, but with a relatively weaker USA team this year, anything is possible for another country to step up and take the championship.

Gilgeous-Alexander's Canada team will face France today at 8:30 a.m. CT to kick off their run in the tournament, while Giddey's Australia team will face Germany on Sunday at 3:30 a.m. CT.
