With the middle of the NBA season quickly approaching it’s time to look at the MVP race. Most would say that Giannis Antetokounmpo is the runaway favorite, but is he? The Greek Freak is having and outstanding year one even more impressive than the previous year that warranted the MVP trophy. However, the team that he is battling for the No. 1 seed, The Los Angeles Lakers, has an MVP candidate of their own. LeBron James in year 17 has led the Lakers to the NO. 1 seed in the Western Conference all awhile leading the league in assists and true plus-minus. SI’s Robin Lundberg makes his argument on why he believes the race between LeBron and Giannis is closer than people may believe.
