Draymond Green Gives Unexpected NBA Finals Take

Draymond Green had some words that may shock you.

One of the biggest question marks heading into the NBA Finals is the availability of Tyler Herro. Chris Haynes previously reported that there was an expectation of Herro returning by Game 3, but there's an elephant in the room when addressing his return - how much will that affect Miami's continuity?

In an episode of The Draymond Green Show, Draymond revealed a very unexpected take on Tyler Herro returning to the Miami Heat.

“Now, that's a very dicey thing,” Green said about Herro returning. “When you've missed the amount of time that Tyler Herro has and you've gotten the rhythm that the guys have gotten into. Duncan Robinson, Gabe Vincent, Max Strus, Kyle Lowry. All the guys off the bench. Caleb Martin. All of those guys are in rhythm.”

While it may sound ludicrous to be apprehensive about bringing last year's sixth man of the year into the rotation, Green does have a legitimate point. Tyler Herro has only played in one game during these playoffs, and players like Caleb Martin and Gabe Vincent have stepped up huge in his absence. Those two players, along with Jimmy Butler, are huge reasons why the Miami Heat are even in the NBA Finals.

What was Draymond Green's final take on Herro returning? He actually believes that Tyler Herro shouldn't be in the rotation.

“He's too talented not to bring back," Green said. "But I wouldn't slot him into rotation. Why wouldn't I slot him into rotation? Well, again, remember all the guys that I just spoke about having a rhythm? I don't want to mess with that rhythm. So what I'm going to save Tyler Herro for is when I need a spark. Like if I need a spark, say we go down one, oh, we go down two, oh, we need a spark. Tyler comes in, he gets it going.”

At the end of the day, this is a great problem for the Miami Heat to have. It's also one they won't have to worry about until around Game 3 of the NBA Finals, where they can have an accurate gauge of the series.
