Golden State Warriors Announce New Roster Move After Loss to Mavericks

The Warriors made a move after facing the Dallas Mavericks

The Golden State Warriors announced a roster move prior to their game against the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday, announcing that the team had recalled Gui Santos from the G-League Santa Cruz Warriors. In their announcement, the Warriors wrote the following:

"The Golden State Warriors have recalled forward Gui Santos from the team's G-League affiliate, the Santa Cruz Warriors, it was announced today.mSantos scored 19 points to go along with six rebounds and one assist in 32 minutes last night versus the Sioux Falls Skyforce. In 15 NBA G League Winter Showcase games (all starts) with Santa Cruz this season, Santos is averaging 14.9 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 28.7 minutes per game. He has appeared in four games with Golden State, averaging 3.3 points and 2.0 rebounds in 5.5 minutes per game."

This was a temporary move, as the team announced a new update after the game that Santos had been sent back down to Santa Cruz:

Santos has not played much at all for the Warriors this season, even in the games he has been active for. That said, Golden State has tried to have him with the big club when Santa Cruz is not also playing, which gives them some depth if needed.

While Santos does not have a direct path to minutes at the NBA level right now, he has shown some great stuff in the G-League, which is where the Warriors hope to see him continue his development as he bounces back and forth between Santa Cruz and Golden State.
