NBA Champion Makes Strong Klay Thompson Statement

Danny Green doesn't like the Klay Thompson slander.

One of the most scrutinized players in the league this season has been Klay Thompson. It seems like any time he has a bad game, it's amplified harder than any other player. One of Klay's former adversaries, Danny Green, isn't a fan of it.

While speaking on Willard and Dibs, Danny Green stood up for Klay Thompson and the criticism he's been receiving this season.

"Klay's getting a lot of hell on social media, which is nuts," Green said. "This is a guy who's earned the right to have a rough year once in a while. He's had a great decade-long playing career. Bad years happen sometimes."

On one end, Danny Green is absolutely right. The amount that Klay Thompson has contributed to the franchise and the amount of championships he helped bring should absolve him from criticism for a rough year. On the other end, Klay's attitude hasn't quite been the best throughout this entire season. Granted, it must be very tough for him mentally to experience this decline, but it's been pretty tough to watch the way he's handled it.

Regardless, Golden State Warriors fans need to be patient with Klay Thompson. If he's asking for a max contract next season, then it's an entirely different conversation. For now, you have to stick through with the guys that brought success to the franchise.
