Steve Kerr Believes Warriors Player Will Receive Large Contract

Kerr believes this unexpected Warriors player will get a payday.

If there's one player who has been an absolute steal for the Golden State Warriors this season, it's Dario Saric.

While all the eyes this off-season were on the acquisition of Chris Paul, Saric was a player who seemed to perfectly fit the Golden State Warriors. In 16 games, he's averaged 10.2 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 2.1 assists on 43/45/83 shooting. He's playing 8 more minutes a game than he did last season with the Oklahoma City Thunder, and that's by design, according to Steve Kerr.

"We expected to play him a lot, just because he was such a great fit," Kerr said. "We watched him with Chris in Phoenix a couple of years ago and he's a very different player from Draymond to Loon. He made so much sense as a fit in our roster. We gave him a hard pitch. He asked me 'How much am I going to play, or am I going to play?'"

The way Saric is playing is definitely going to earn him a higher contract than his current $2,709,849 one. That was his intention when joining the Warriors, and Steve Kerr's intention when signing him.

"He knew this was a year where he slipped through the cracks free agency-wise and needed to be in a good spot to show what he can do," Kerr said. "This is definitely the spot. He's playing so well. He's clearly a player who's going to command a big salary next summer."

There's a high chance the Golden State Warriors won't retain Dario Saric after this season. So, Warriors fans should enjoy the big man for whatever time they have him right now.
