Golden State Warriors assistant coach Dejan Milojevic has tragically passed away

The Golden State Warriors announced on Wednesday afternoon that assistant coach Dejan Milojevic has tragically passed away at the age of 46. In their announcement, the team wrote the following:

"Golden State Warriors assistant coach Dejan Milojevic (DAY-ahn mi-lo-yo-vihch) was hospitalized last night in Salt Lake City, Utah, after suffering a heart attack at a private team dinner. Despite life-saving efforts, Milojevié, 46, passed away late Wednesday morning."

The team's announcement also included a statement from head coach Steve Kerr, who said the following:

"We are absolutely devastated by Dejan's sudden passing. This is a shocking and tragic blow for everyone associated with the Warriors and an incredibly difficult time for his family, friends, and all of us who had the incredible pleasure to work with him. In addition to being a terrific basketball coach, Dejan was one of the most positive and beautiful human beings I have ever known, someone who brought joy and light to every single day with his passion and energy. We grieve with and for his wife, Natasa, and their children, Nikola and Masa. Their loss is unfathomable."

The Golden State Warriors vs. Utah Jazz game on Wednesday night has been postponed by the NBA due to the passing of Milojevic. The league announced the following on Wednesday morning:

"The National Basketball Association game scheduled for tonight between the Golden State Warriors and Utah Jazz has been postponed due to a medical emergency in the Warriors family. The date for the rescheduled game will be announced at a later time."
