Steve Kerr's Strong Statement After Warriors vs. Mavericks
Falling to the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday night, the Golden State Warriors may have clinched their spot in the bottom of the play-in tournament bracket. Desperately needing a win over Dallas to improve their chances at escaping the 9th or 10th seed, the Warriors fell without Steph Curry and Draymond Green, and will now shift their focus to the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday.
Speaking with reporters after the game, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr maintained a level of confidence that Golden State can make a serious run despite where they sit in the standings.
"The season it really is a marathon... I still have no doubt that this team can get on a great run and make a good push," Kerr said.
Kerr acknowledged that the Warriors have lost some momentum, but added, "I still like who our team is. We’re hoping to get Steph back for Saturday. I like the team a lot better now than I did a couple months ago, where we were really sorting through a lot of things. I think we have an identity, I think we know who we are, I think we’ll bounce back here, and I’m excited about the last part of the season.”
While a top-8 seed may be out of the picture, the Warriors would still love to enter the play-in tournament with some momentum.
