While Jordan Poole received a lot of blame for the Golden State Warriors' struggles last season, his former teammate Andre Iguodala recently slammed that narrative on an episode of Gil's Arena.

"He was the only one that got to the line for us consistently," Iguodala said of Poole. "People act like he had a bad year. I'm like, a bad year? Ya'll blame him for the year we had last year? He averaged 20."

Poole did lead the Warriors in free throw attempts per game last season, averaging 5.1 attempts from the line per night, which was just above the 5.0 that Steph Curry shot. While Poole did have some struggles last year, Iguodala does not believe he should be blamed for the season the Warriors had.

Now with the Washington Wizards, Poole should have an opportunity to put last season behind him and begin a new chapter as a primary option. It felt at times last year that Poole struggled with his shot selection, especially when playing alongside Curry, which won't be as big of an issue on a team like the Wizards.

While people can debate how much of last season was Poole's fault, his former teammate believes he received too much criticism in a year he averaged 20.4 PPG. While he certainly wasn't as good as the year prior, Poole still had some solid moments, and will look to blossom even further in Washington.
